Misa Amane Sig - My first Gimp Sig..Er.. Attempt.

Wow a pretty good start with GIMP. You have the same problem as me sometimes though. You need to take more space. I found a solution by making smaller images of 400x130 and puts the render closer to the middle. Also try using brushes close to the edge of the render so that it blend to the background. If you need brushes then go to http://www.deviantart.com/ search GIMP brushes and download a pack. Then open each brush to GIMP right click copy and then right click paste as...new brush. Also since the font sucks for gimp try to position it and put in your name. Too get the best result either get completely black or take a color from what you have already. now once you have put your text in the signature go to the layers window and set the text mode to whatever you want...the text should change a lot with each mode. if you chose black text then choose overlay to get a faded in text.
Overall I give your signature a 7/10
